Top 10 Reasons why AMS Performance Monitor

Overview Home
1

Value

AMS Performance Monitor offers an exciting new way of significantly minimising the total cost of ownership while providing a rigorous and proven equipment performance monitoring solution. A small fixed monthly fee means improved predictability of cash flows, which can often escalate in traditional software solutions due to unforeseen post-implementation software-related expenditures. Removing the extra burden of support and maintenance of internal systems allows your organisation to concentrate on developing its core business activities and improving profitability.

2

Reliability

Our dedicated servers are monitored 24 hours a day 365 days a year within a Network Access Point (NAP) based in the UK. We have a stringent service level agreement with our NAP hosting company which guarantees a minimum 99.5% uptime for our servers. File systems on our servers are backed up on a daily basis to ensure continuous data reliability.

3

Security

Our systems have been developed specifically to minimise security risks, enabling you to conduct your business in the knowledge that your information is safe and secure.

Customer sites are protected by utilising industry-standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology, providing robust encryption of potentially sensitive information. Encryption ensures that third parties cannot access critical information passed between your PC and the web site. All passwords are stored in our secure databases, in encrypted format, which makes them unusable to anyone who does not have the decryption keys.

4

Manageability

Our aim is to take away the burden of managing and supporting your own performance monitoring solutions. As our solution is web browser based there is no need for specialist software installations and support.  We take over the responsibility of managing your data and storing your performance monitoring results in a secure and safe environment. The results of all your equipment performance monitoring can now be viewed in one central place, making equipment performance comparisons much easier.

5

Mobility

AMS Performance Monitor incorporates web based technology to provide a globally available solution for equipment performance monitoring. So anywhere in the world where you have access to an internet connection and a web browser you can view your latest performance results, even on the move.

6

Usability

One of our key objectives was to make our systems simple to use. We have developed a very intuitive user interface using web browser technology. By using familiar icons and standard navigation methods we have created a system that is not only easy to use, but allows you to find the information you need quickly within a few mouse clicks. Anyone familiar with a web browser will be at home with the AMS Performance Monitor web application.

7

Data Access

AMS Performance Monitor provides a flexible approach to data access. Individual user accounts can be configured to allow varying degrees of access to performance monitoring information.  Plant managers can have access to view all units on a particular plant or even across several plants, while other users may need access to just one individual piece of equipment.

8

Software

AMS Suite: Real-Time Optimizer, the most installed model-based real-time optimization system in the world, is incorporated into the AMS Performance Monitor solution. AMS Optimizer has proven to be a reliable and robust performance monitoring solution used to optimize many plants worldwide. AMS Performance Monitor incorporates the same rigorous model-based approach to monitor plant equipment and then automatically publishes process results on our secure web server.

9

Accuracy

The use of rigorous model-based software within AMS Performance Monitor significantly contributes to the highly accurate results presented to the end-user. Normal spreadsheet techniques take no account of instrument drift or errors, bad data or the accuracy of the data used in the calculations.

10

Data Reconciliation

Measurements can sometimes be subject to error and, therefore, provide inconsistent information. Our software can detect and correct measurement errors, thereby providing a consistent and accurate data set. A model representing a specific item of plant can be updated whereby the software will be able to reconcile model calculated and actual plant values to ensure that the model continues to represent actual plant performance.

Elimination of instrument bias is achieved by a number of techniques including Normal Least Squares, Weighted Least Squares, Minimum variance and X2 distribution.
