What makes AMS Performance Monitor's approach different?

AMS Performance Monitor’s web-based performance monitoring approach follows the business model requirements of an Application Service Provider (ASP). Our ASP-style approach makes plant-monitoring data available to clients via the web.

Convergence of Software & IT Infrastructure enables new Application ModelThe growing convergence of software and IT infrastructure towards an Internet-based or centrally focused environment has enabled the concept of the ASP to emerge. The traditional software approach has evolved from custom-coded applications to pre-packaged or off-the-shelf applications.

The ASP approach adopted by AMS Performance Monitor takes advantage of the latest net-centric applications. An ASP deploys, manages and remotely hosts a prepackaged software application to multiple users via the Internet and acts as an intermediary by facilitating a remote, centrally managed ‘rent-an-application’ solution between the customer and the independent software vendor. The emphasis is placed on the use and not the ownership of the application. The ASP architecture aligns precisely with the AMS Performance Monitor application model.

The difference of AMS Performance Monitor's approach over other systems include:

A viable solution to procuring and implementing complex systems providing customers with a comprehensive alternative to managing internal information technology operations.
Access to operating performance data for process units via the web, anywhere in the world.
Eradicate up-front capital expenses of owning, maintaining, supporting and upgrading an on-site system.
Transferring the implementation and management of an on-site application enabling the customer to focus on other business functions.
Elimination of the uncertainty of post-implementation of software-related expenditures.
Provide customers with the latest technological system necessary to monitor plant equipment on a global platform.
Speed to market of the system. The system is already developed and ready for rapid market access.
Assures the customer of an ongoing return on investment. Since AMS Performance Monitor is ‘rented’ the customer can cancel subscription when deemed that it no longer provides a benefit (subject to customer terms and conditions).

The approach taken by AMS Performance Monitor means that no special software needs to be installed on a user PC and no customer training or understanding of the process is required. A gateway link may be installed direct to a data collection or historian system to provide regular up-to-date performance monitoring.

AMS Performance Monitor’s approach of providing operating data direct to any end user's desktop anywhere in the world is already delivering real value to customer operations. To realise this approach please click here to request further information.
